Since no one answer , I would like to "guess answer" (meaning I am not 100% certain but rather answering based on my own usage experience).
(1) Is java module required for using jar file or slax default have program to use jar file?
I would say yes , b'cos without jre module slax doesn't seem to recognised jar file.:
Previously (some thing like a couple of year back) , i seem to be able to just click or double click a jar file to run java programme.
Now generally , I have to right click the jar file and choose open with
(a) Java if shown as an option on the menu , or
(b) choose open with java -jar
