Is java module required for using jar file or slax default have program to use jar file?

Allow making the jar file into lzm file and optional load the lzm on boot? Double click would do to use the file or have to use command for the file?

Since no one answer , I would like to "guess answer" (meaning I am not 100% certain but rather answering based on my own usage experience).

(1) Is java module required for using jar file or slax default have program to use jar file?
I would say yes , b'cos without jre module slax doesn't seem to recognised jar file.:

Previously (some thing like a couple of year back) , i seem to be able to just click or double click a jar file to run java programme.

Now generally , I have to right click the jar file and choose open with
(a) Java if shown as an option on the menu , or
(b) choose open with java -jar

Java /jar file can be made into a module but I don't know how.
See sample with menu entry -jdownloader
