I'm trying to boot slax off my usb pendrive i have unzipped it onto my drive and i then enter the /boot folder and run the bootinst.bat and it says access is denied to the physical drive and that the MBR is not successfully updated. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem. thanks, Phil T
Yes, probably; likely has to do with windows system permission to write a device's MBR sector. Logon to the windows box as administrator, open a cmd window, and run bootinst.bat from that. Watch the reply text, be sure it is not going to modify the windows system disk.
