I have a C-NET CQU-906 wireless adapter. It's advertised to be compatible with Windows Vista / XP / 7 and Linux.. Is it possible to use it with Slax? I've tried, but it says that it doesn't support the operating system.

EDIT: Nevermind, I contacted Tomas directly and he answered my question.

Bump.

Windows won't boot, so I could really use an internet connection with this operating system. My regular system is Windows 7, in-case that helps at all.

Could someone at-least tell me if it's impossible to use the driver with Slax? Because if so, then I'll have to switch to Ubuntu, but I would really love to stick with Slax.

If you are still interested, I got my CQU-906 to work with Slax. ( after many many hours of work ).

What you have to do is download the drivers from Realtek and install. The chipset used in this dongle is Realtek 8192CU.

Get the files at : http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=48&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true#RTL8192CU

Run the script file included in the download : bash install.sh

I'm a novice Slax/Linux user and don't understand half of what i'm doing ! Got some error messages on screen during install but the drivers works fine.

I'm running a Slax version with saved changes. If you are using a nochange config, you'll have to build a module after the driver install.
