Please Help Quick!!!

I need help or a guide or something quick.I wanted to install slax on my old computer(on its 80g hard drive) which had windows xp,So I made a g parted live usb and formatted the hard drive to Ext4.I only have a usb which i can make it a slax live usb and i just bought 2 700mb cd-r.What should i do!?!?!

Note ext4 support doesn't not work out of the box:-\

thanks but from your experience should i run from a live cd and copy its files to the hard drive.(changed my filesys to ext3)

If you are refering to the above methods using grub as a bootloader , then it makes no difference as to whether you do it from a cd or thumb drive.

Basically the method just involved:
(a) Copying slax (frugally) to the hard disk (whether from the cd / thumbdrive .
(b) Setting up grub as a bootloader.

With (b) there is two options :
(a) Making use of window bootloader to boot up grub (meaning slax will boot up so long as the window os is still working)

(b) Setting up grub to boot independently (meaning it will still work even if you removed windox os).

Do i have to set up grub cant i just run from the slax bootloader or whatever.

oh and grub-install "--root-directory=/mnt/sda2 /dev/sda" can you modify that for me cause i have on partition which is in sda1.Sorry for all the questions.

I reread your 1st post - "had window xp" - I misunderstood that you intend to keep window xp.
If you don't need window , then you can run the slax installation script (which will kill off window / prevent it from booting).

I never used it so I can't comment further . I always use grub.
