Hi, I'm newbie in the linux world and... very newbie in the slax distro.
I found that slax is one of the best small distro, and I love it.
I run my slax on thinclient t5725.
The network browsing is very user friendly but I have a troubele.
I have added a new object called "Musica" in the "Remote places" by accessing the "System" icon on the desktop.
So, every time I try to access to the remote shares that I have named "Musica", SLAX tellme to insert login and password for this share. I insert log/pass and I can browse the folder.
Once I have opened the shared folder "Musica" I cannot play any videos or songs because KPlayer report an error
It sounds like a sharing permissions issue on the computer that you are trying to access across the lan. If the OS on the remote system is windows xp, try enabling the guest account (disabled by default). Sometimes this helps with file sharing from a windows machine of a remote client is prompting for access credentials on a network share that should be open and require none.

And... in SlaxI have no set any user, so I think that my user is default slax user... login is root and password root (or toor)?
If I want to specify a new user how i can to do? How I can login slax with the new user?
I have tryed to set user/pass in "Control center>Network>Local network>Windows shares" but the problem still remain...

Sorry, no idea about how vista manages user profiles.
I dunno if there is a version of openssh for vista..
I just use ssh, sftp in konqueror for sharing files and directory's (linux to xp and vica verca)
Only requirement is that the windows users must set a password, that is if you want to log in from a
linux-box to a windows-box.
(in linux, users most of the time have a password)
Normaly konquerer offers you the posibility to save the password...

Now... my question is... how to create a user in slax, so I can create a similar user in windows. And... what are the default login and password in slax?

toor are the default slax
Ok... setting user root and pass toor in Windows Vista credential, now SLAX don't ask me every time the credential for network shares access.
But the initial problem remain... in few words, i can't play any song or video with KPlayer because i receve the follow error:
I have alseo tryed, to set in Windows Vista the credential in any spcific file (root/toor), in the case of the credential won't be ineherited but the problem still remain.
