saman wrote 1 year ago reply Dear Folks!
Recently I have found few modules that even do not run in root mode and they force me using non-root account in my Slax 7 64 such as wine, exile, gajim, ...
And also some modules promote using a non-root account such as k3b
I wonder if some one help me create a non root account in slax 7 64bit.
ps. I read the instructions for creation of non-root account that was published long ago in this forum but I think that it was for slax 6:

Wow thanks, you are wonderfully quick :P saman wrote 1 year ago reply @ EM
I wounder if you could explain how to use this module? :P em wrote 1 year ago reply Just put the above corresponding arch bundles in your slax 7.0.3 32 or 64 bit modules directory and reboot.
Graphic mode nothing to do. It run by itself and start kdm via xdm (init 4 mode) at boot with only guest preselected.
Type enter for password (blank password for guest), then kde4 guest session start.
Or root / toor for kdm root login.
In text mode at prompt, type root / toor for root session or guest and enter for kde4 guest session start.
Thats all ...
Graphic mode only runs for kde4 Slax 7.0.3 default Desktop. jelow wrote 323 days ago reply you can upload again??
the module is deleted. em wrote 322 days ago reply What slax version ? 7.0.5 7.0.8 32 or 64 bit ? And what particular name for your guest account ? forum wrote 322 days ago reply does networking work when you create a user account Em?
If so, could you explain how/what you do? em wrote 321 days ago reply Network things work under xfce and others DE that i use!
Under KDE 4 youre right network dont work for users! But what's working under kde 4 :) ?
Maybe a policykit rules is missing ... Tomas choices are surprising nowadays ... I dont understand it anymore :)
Time to jump to Slax 8: an updated Slax 6 like and forget that Slax 7 thing ... Smith000 wrote 284 days ago reply Is there anything wrong with adding a user with the terminal? "Adduser Smith" jcsoh wrote 284 days ago reply Adduser Smith
Linux is case sensitive so it should be adduser and not Adduser. Smith000 wrote 283 days ago reply Sorry I would have edited that but I am not signed in...
So would that work to add more users to a Slax? jcsoh wrote 283 days ago reply Yes.
Or you can just do "adduser" then follow the prompt steps by steps (which is better as you can select the user group etc). TWalker wrote 56 days ago reply Is anyone using non-root users now? I see all these posts are old. How is it done in 7.08?
I know I can use "adduser" in Konsole. But then how do I auto login to a new user?
Can I just edit kde/.....AutoLoginUser=root to AutoLoginUser=newuser?
I must not allow the user I am giving Slax to have easy root access.
